Le Salon de Lahd, 10/10/15

Discovery lies not in seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes.

Inspired by the intellectual Andalusian poet Wallada bint al-Mustakfi, a controversial female icon of her time, HH Princess Nauf Bendar al Saud champions the strength and vision of renaissance women reflecting her own expert knowledge in the worlds of art and science.

Following in the tradition of 17th Century Parisian salons, where intellectual minds gathered in the homes of beautiful and educated Salonnières to share and increase knowledge through discussion, Le Salon de Lahd celebrated 10 years of MENASA creativity in a unique 21st Century ‘Salon’.

By bringing together the creative worlds of art, music, fashion, jewellery and design to celebrate a decade of Lahd Gallery, this one-of-a-kind experience was an unforgettable, enriching and transformative occasion. Le Salon de Lahd will be hosted by Lahd Gallery’s renaissance woman, pioneering founder and modern day Salonnière, HH Princess Nauf Bendar Al Saud.

Taking place prior to Frieze London, Le Salon de Lahd was the perfect event to commence this week of artistic celebration. A culturally inspiring gathering for our honoured guests at the historic Victorian townhouse, Kent House, located in the heart of London’s Knightsbridge. Kent House will be transformed into an immersive world of MENASA creativity, combining historical heritage with understated intimacy.

Guests were warmly welcomed and invited to explore the numerous rooms filled with diverse creative talent to inspire the mind. With colourfully illustrated walls from Lahd’s exclusive artworks, an online auction hosted by The Auction Room, a piano recital by Grand Passion Pianos on the finest rebuilt and customised pianos from the houses of Steinway and Pleyel echoing through the halls, an exquisite catwalk showcasing the latest designs of the fashion forward Jean Louis Sabaji, dazzling mannequins with statement pieces of My Diamond Drop, exquisite keep sakes by fine jewellery designers D’Joya with a touch of a worldwide variety of modern fine jewellery from Mas & Morjan and FINALLY an art performance by Lahd gallery’s Turkish artist Tuğberk Selçuk where art was brought to life.

Thank you for being there on Saturday 10.10.2015 at Kent House Knightsbridge, Rutland Gardens, London SW7 1BX.
